Death by Chocolate
Every year we look forward to the most delicious fundraiser around, Gleason Memorial Library’s Death by Chocolate. The community never fails to contribute the most scrumptiously luscious chocolate desserts making sure the library’s annual fundraiser is always a success. This year we raised about $1700. It was so cold and everyone has been so worried about colds and flu this year we were a little worried but we had a great crowd and we hope everyone had a great time!
We told you part of the proceeds would be used as matching funds for the Pilcrow Foundation Children’s Book Project grant. The Pilcrow Foundation provides a 2-to-1 match to rural public libraries that receive a grant through its Children’s Book Project and contribute $200-$400 through local sponsors. Our application has been completed and mailed. The application deadline is April 1st and grant
recipients will be posted on their websites by April 15th. If our library is selected
we will receive up to $1200 worth of new, quality, hardcover children’s books.
