Mrs. Harris is a down to earth London charlady who cleans the
houses of the very rich, and one day, while tidying a wardrobe,
she falls in love with a Dior dress, the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. She scrimps and saves for three years to get to Paris and buy her own. It doesn’t take long before she begins to transform the lives of people she meets along the way.
Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is based on a 1958 novel by Paul Gallico. Gallico, talented, versatile, and prolific, wrote a number of popular novels and screenplays. Here is the link to Wikipedia’s
Gallico page, maybe you will see some old favorites or decide
to dig into other Gallico works.
